A really wonderful opportunity to overnight in the magnificient dunes of the Sahara. You set out up and over the winding Tizi n’Tichka High Atlas pass (2260m) to the colonial city of ouarzazate for a visit and lunch. You continue on south down the magnificient Drâa Valley to the desert town of Zagora and on to the dunes at Tinfou. At a certain point the road just stops and a vast ewpanse of hammada stretches out before us as far as the eye can see. Timbuctou – 52 days by camel, you are reliably informe by a well-known nearby sign.

You have the opportunity to take a 2 hour camel ride before overnighting in a nomadic tent, dinner included. After breakfast, you return via the remarkable village of Tamegroute to visit its library of 12th century Koranic and ancient Persien vellum scrolls and underground alleyways before returning back through the Drâa valley to visit the World Heritage Site of Aît Ben Haddou for a visit and lunch in some really awesome surroundings. Suitably refreshed , you set off back to Marrakech, arriving in this beautiful city at the end the evening and many hours of unimaginable scenery .
